Production Day 2 - green room test footage
During day two of production we went to the green room to test out the green screen effect. We found that without a fisheye lens or an extremely wide angled lens it would be hard to get the effect we were looking for. we had a wide angle lens that enabled us to do a few green screen shots but not too many. we did the classic one, flying. Also we did some interview type of shots and angles to see how they worked. This idea was to test how affective green screen is.

Production Day 1 - Planning
During our first production day we did all of the planning for our project. We had do choose what costumes to use and what props would be appropriate for this short film we are making. We made planning sheets to show when we would be filming, editing, doing blog posts, ect...
Every time we need to film we have to book our equipment before hand so we have to be alert and aware of when we are going to film.

Test Footage
We were instructed to go around the college and get some test shots to try them out with the new equiptment we had been let to use. we to the stage area and chose the rolling tripod and wide angle lense. the reason we chose the hall is because it was a wide, open space with a smooth survace to roll the tripod over.

Prop Sheet
This was one of my jobs as a task. I used google to find images of what looked closest to the props we had to use and made a moodboard type of sheet full of these images with tags to say what they are.
COSTUME SHEET
This was one of my tasks to do so I used different pictures of tops and jeans to create a person like image. we chose for brad and jackson to be dressed the same, in a red hoodie and black jeans, and for tom to be dressed in black jeams and a blue check shirt.

Location sheets
with the location sheets we just took a load of still photos of the locations we had chosen, then used photoshop to make a moodboard of the location and gave all three a title. we chose to use behind the stage for our first location because it has a lot of things to use, like lights and steps and curtains to create a dark mood when filming. The second location is the green room for the torture scene because we can use SFX to make it more dramatic. The last location was the woods which we might use but we have it down as a reserve location for the moment because the woods can be made to look creepy and missleading.
Open title planning
In this Session the group started working on a planning for our open title sequence at the start of our film, personally I quite like our title planning because it suits with the whole idea of our film. We try'd out a lot of different titles seeing what our options were and we googled images for ideas and to try and make something unique and that nobody else had done. The planning was originally made paper with pencil and color pens but will be finished in and edited in Photo Shop. This session was a lot of fun because i got to see what the groups ideas are in picture's instead of words, also i found it enjoyable because it had a good out come.

"TRAPPED" target audience member
For this task I chose a BMXer for my target audience member. I chose some of the things a BMX rider would be into and some of their general interests. BMXers always use iTunes to hook up their favorite songs onto their iPod. Most BMXers like cars and like fastcar magazine. Every BMXer knows the film "How High" (the ones i know anyway) and like funny films that can be quoted a lot. All BMXers associate with the same brands because they all use the top BMX brands. Cameras and filming/photography is extreemly populay in BMX so i chose canon as my camera logo. I chose to put burger king in there because everyone eats fast food...

Find your tribe
The "Find your tribe" task was to go onto www.findyourtribe.co.uk and answer a multiple choice survey. The questions were things to do about you and what you do in your spare time. When I finished my survey I got "Boy Racer" as my tribe. I didn't really agree to this but its what the un accurate survey told me.... at least I didn't get "Hipster"....
Trapped initial planning
In this session we watched a short film called "Deserts" by Jeff Stark. The story line of this short film is a man (Ewen Mcgregor) walking on a isolated beach and sees a chocolate desert laying on the floor. He assumes it belongs to no one and picks it up, takes a bite and a fish hook shoots out of the ocean and hooks his mouth and drags his struggling body into the sea. We looked at this short film because we have to make something similar to it. We had to have an idea that was simple and that hasn't been overplayed by other film makers. To get our idea we decided to get an A4 piece of paper each and write down our thought on the short film idea. After we had all finished writing down our ideas we debated on what was good and what was not, then we mixed and matched the ideas until we had our final idea. Our idea goes somewhere along the lines of a man being captured for torture and not realising who the potental killer is...

New York Garageband Soundtrack Session
In this session I had to get soundtracks for the new york video i made in an earlier lesson. This taught us how to add audio to video using audio editing software.
New York Final Cut Editing Session
In this session I took some video clips from the New york folder and made a quick slideshow of images blending into each other. During this we had to get a hold of using Final Cut and now I feel I can use it to a beginners level.
Garageband Demo Session
In this session we had to open Garageband and learn how to use it by trying to make a song.
I didn't do too much but got the hang of things and the basics of the software.

Media Production Company Logo Planning Session
For this session i spent my time looking for a colour scheme and a catchy name to fit my plans that i sketched out on a piece of A3 paper. My original idea was to do something using a car or something to do with cars. This makes it just as professional but makes it a little more fun for me by bringing in some of my personal interests. I chose the name "TOP SECRET Productions" for my company name. I chose this because it makes people think, "What's so top secret about it?" and Top secret are also a japanese car tuning company owned by Kazuhiko "smoky" Nagata. This session taught me to think about what to choose when it comes to names and logo's and that there should be a reason behind all logo's.
Logo Ident Production Session
In this session I began to design my logo using photoshop CS5.1. I began by Getting a logo off of the internet and croping it down and playing with it to make something of my own. I decided on Top Secret Productions as my logo name. This was a fun activity because i enjoy using photoshop and i could bring my own interests into this session and make something new.

Logo Research Session
In this session we were told to research two different logo's that we found interesting and annotate them. I researched information on the history of my logo along with what i already knew about. We drew the logo's and spoke about the font, colours, and shape of the logo. My first logo was BMW ( Bavarian Motor Works ) and i spoke about the reason their logo is as it is. They first established in 1916 and started out in the plane engine industry. The second logo I chose was FBM ( Fat Bald Men ) and their logo and company name isn't just a joke, there is a reason behind it. Back when BMX started to get popular all of the big companies were founded by old business men, hence where "FBM" came from. Now days more people are keeping it alive by making good hand made products not crap chinese machine made imports, and for a good price.

Photoshop Skills Session 1: Club Flyer Task
I found the Club Flyer Task allot more fun than the Earth and Eye Task because i could be creative and do what I wanted. I also liked how it was about music so I could choose what type of style to go for because I got to pick the genre of music. I chose dubstep because I like to work with graffiti / Stencil style and the rasta style too.

Photoshop Skills Session 1: Earth and Eye Exercise.
I found the Earth and Eye Exercise very easy to complete because I am experienced in using Photoshop.
The exercise was fun because I love to use Photoshop and we have been doing allot of Photoshopping in class. This was a good introduction to the coarse and I am enjoying it so far.
